  • The author, Joseph Johnson, retired with the rank of lieutenant from the Roseville (Michigan) Police Department after serving 26 years in areas that included patrol, traffic, narcotics, intelligence, internal affairs, command and administration. In addition to over 16 years of experience in assessment centers for police recruitment, Mr. Johnson has over 33 years of varied experience as an instructor, coordinator and training director in police training academies and community colleges and has presented police supervision and management programs, seminars and workshops nationally.
